BULLION STITCH AND BRUGES LACE CAL

All Aboard!!! Welcome Artisans and please take your seat,  we will be starting our Bullion Stitch and Bruges Lace Crochet Along.

Please take out your size #10 crochet thread   and your crochet hook I am using a #4 but you can choose anywhere between #4 and #5, just remember the smaller the hook the tighter the stitch and your final doily size will be a little smaller than someone using a larger hook.

Row 1: start with 10 chains and close with a slip stitch to make your circle at this point you chain one and then fill the circle with 20 SC or single crochet stitches and close this round with a SL or slip stitch.

Row 2: we are going to use the double crochet cluster stitch. Each cluster must have 5 DC before you close the cluster,  separate each cluster by 5 chains, and the clusters are made in every other single crochet stitch from row 1. At the end of this row it should look like this: 1DCC – 5 ch – 1 DCC – etc, close with a slip stitch to complete your row.

Row 3: we are continuing with the DCC this time we are separating each one with 2 chains for a total of 20 DCC, you are going to put the cluster on top of the cluster from row 2 and in each space. At the end of this row it should look like this 1DCC – 2 ch – 1DCC, etc, close with a slip stitch to complete your row.

  1. I tried making your little motif but mine doesn’t seem to lie flat like yours does.
