Hello!!! I hope you had a nice long and relaxing weekend, and now you are ready to tackle more projects.

I am making a beanie to give to Operation Gratitude and needed help with the head circumference, so I went to craftyarncouncil.com and printed this chart:

head chart

head size chart

they have all types of resources for us artisans.

I am halfway finished and I hope it will be well received.

The pattern I used is from My Hobby is Crochet and if you click on the image it will take you to the free tutorial.

I am using the Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC) which I don’t use often but I may just start using it more.

I wanted a much chunkier yarn for this project so I have adapted the pattern.  The chunkier the yarn the less rows you need, which translate to a faster finish 🙂

Well, this is all for now, when I finish the beanie I will post about it.

I know a lot of crochet artists here on Word Press give to charity and I have always wanted to do just that.

Missy from Missy’s Crafty Mess  donates like a ton of beanies and scarves to Operation Gratitude, and I decided that it is time that I started too 🙂

Well, this is really all for now. Have a Terrific Tuesday, hugs!!!

  1. Thank you for that chart: it’s really useful and I’ll be sure to refer back to it in future. I love using the front post stitch, as it adds more texture and interest to any project. I’ve recently made a few girl pamela hats using that stitch and they proved very popular.

  2. So is this the final product? Or, what did you decide for colors?
