Happy Friday!! Just wanted to remind you that we still have 2 more Fridays before we say goodbye to October, thrilling…I Know. Keep up the speed, and stay focused.

Today I wanted to highlight Freeform Crochet, this is like the “rebel” or maverick and I like this expression of crochet art form.

There are no rules and regulations in this type of crochet which is refreshing and inspiring, but it takes a certain “eye” to make a really nice looking piece.

I found a lot of really nice creations on Pinterest : Freeform {"Crochet" FB page} Little Girls Floral Pattern Multi-Colored Dress:

That type of crochet to me is really beautiful and artistic and is more in the advanced division. But if you take a closer look  you will find that the pieces are not hard to crochet (most of them) it has more to do with how you assemble each piece.

The way you place your colors and stitches you use is what makes Freeform Crochet a perfect example of Individual Expression in crochet.

Two persons can take the same stitches and colors and make two very distinct and different creations.  In my humble opinion,  I think that is what makes  Freeform Crochet  above other forms of crochet.  What do you think? What is Your Take on Freeform Crochet?

  1. I love that tiny dress! Those boots/slippers are beautiful too. I’ve never really thought of crochet is a free form art. Thanks for showing me the way.

  6. Freeform is something on my list to explore in 2016 but I am not sure that I have the eye!! It would certainly be a way to practice those bullion knots! You have found some great examples there! I hope you have a great weekend too. x

  7. I took a class in this, and it still intimidated me. But I love the end results!

  8. I don’t have the creative vision to do that – it is definitely true that you need an eye to make it beautiful and not just a jumbled mess:)
